Yes, that bit sounded the best from the recent discussion.

I was rather sad to find that my character lost his ties to his home 
realm once he got a council position.  It would be nice, RP-wise, for 
him to have it back, even if it is just a 0% share.

And the duchy knights - they do just seem a way to cause confusion at 
the moment both with their allegiance and their tax source, and I can 
think of no harm in losing those.

So sounds like a good, RP-friendly simplification to the game.
