The ultimate solution is to encourage people with those names to  
delete the characters and start over.  But for characters with  
incorrect capitalization, that just seems too extreme.  People will  
continue to play those characters rather than lose their progress and  
another 100 family gold to start a new one.

The mechanism I suggested cannot possibly be abused: you click a  
button to turn (brian, BRIAN, or BRian) into Brian.  Clicking that  
button again does nothing.  Furthermore, if the option is available,  
then we *know* that anyone who has failed to do it is just being  
stubborn/dumb instead of having made an honest mistake, and we can  
deal with them accordingly.
