In all the examples you provided it says nothing of an army. Shure I
first follow my Lord then my Duke and then the King.
However, assigning a knight to an army is not a matter to be taken
lightly. The marshal has the right to order. Any member that doesn't
follow his orders for whatever reson, is a deserter.
And this is good. Why o why must there be a one and only one chain of
command.
