[Discuss] Oaths of fealty and their confliction with other orders

The general atmosphere now is that some players are still living in
the old BM and others are living in the new BM. Knights are not
peasants so they cant simply be ordered around - they are nobles. That
is why you cannot ban/fine characters for sitting around doing nothing
but enjoy the view of the capital. There are many nobles like that -
they fat ones usually.

Now, I think that a lot of work needs to be done and detail guidelines
need to be set for this to work. Currently, in EC, people are arguing
about how does duchy fits into a democracy. Dukes are like the old
Kings, except they cannot be protested. Kings do not have land nor an
imperial army - how can the King smack the dukes who are out of line?
Yes, with the support of other dukes but what if you are a one city
realm?

I think the Capital should always be the imperial center of power -
ie, the Duke of Capital is the Ruler. Also, a lord should only be able
to assign his knights to either his army or the army of the duke -
failing that the imperial army of the King. It does not make sense
when a lord assigns his knight to the army of another duchy.

Also, with the new customizable system to decide how election take
place and all, can we like remove all the forms of government - like
republic and democracy. Those are really hard to play. That or make
the Dukes in democracy or republic governors whom can be appointed and
remove at the wimp of the federal government. Yeah it doesnt fit the
theme but neither does modern day governmental system.
