I completly disagree. In my mind it is simple:
- Knights have to follow both orders. Can and should be punished if they
are not following even one of them. So in this case they are a bit
screwed yes.
- It is most important to acknowledge it is for each knight to decide
whose orders will be followed, not this discussion list.

Lords have the possibility to remove their knigts from the army, which
in turn can have bad consequences for them, or just order his knights
and let them take the punishement. In my opinion this is very realistic
and offeres a myriad of possible politics. So again, the answer whose
orders should knigts follow? Both! Since they can not, it is for the
knigts to decidede what to do.

One of my characters would for shure write a nasty letter to his liege,
informing him to go stuck his head into his... and he would search for
another liege. I mean come on his liege put him into this position, he
could sign him to another army you know. My other character would follow
his liege's order and take any punishment with good grace as long as he
can further his liege's plan.

This cases are what is most interesting in Battlemaster. Don't go and
make a rule what is the right course of action. Or we can just ask Tom
to make a checkbox beside each character saying "Do what I'm supposed to
do." and there won't even be need to log in any more.
