adventurer early on but I paid attention over the course of this one
so far), is that all of the information is out there in some fashion,
it's just not bee collected into a useable form.  There was some
mention of bringing specific items to a location to defeat them, how
up to date that is I don't know.

Additionally I'm a bit perplexed by the idea that the GM's have to
cater to the whims of the players/react to the story they're trying to
make.  If a GM is waiting for a specific action and it doesn't come of
course they're going to keep going until it does.  It reminds me of SM
towards the end storyline that basically killed it.

I'm also reminded of a classic definition of insanity.  Do the same
thing over and over again each time expecting a different outcome...
Quick get me a shrink!
