Here's a request for Execution Option...
A Judge, when deciding to execute a character, MUST give a reason for
said execution.
Notice is given to the condemned and the realm/region/prison that the
condemned will be executed within the next day (13-23 hours, no more
than 2 full turns). The execution is inevitable (Ruler Reprieve
Option mentioned later).
As the condemned is being led to the gallows/chopping block, the Judge
who passed sentence on him gives him a chance to say a few words (to
all in realm/region/prison, max 1500 characters allowed. This happens
immediately after the Judge gives his reason and pushes the execute
button). No other messages can be sent.
Perhaps add an option for the Ruler of the Realm to give a reprieve to
the condemned. Chances are, the Ruler will support the Judge and not
issue a reprieve.
This allows for :
* the condemned character to know why he is being executed
* the condemned to wrap things up or clear the air
* the player of the condemned to collect the old messages
* added drama (will he die?)
* adds for RP possibilities
* brings closure for the player
Now, why am I suggesting this? My advy (of 7 months) was executed.
This is NOT about commoners having rights. I knew that the advy could
die. But, to me, it almost crossed the line of forcing my character
to do something they didn't want to do and seemed to be out of
character for the Judge character (from what I could tell on the
wiki). I accept that this happened but it left a void.
Typing this message, if nothing else, was cathartic.
