Right, and he referenced that with the "tough luck" statement.  The
question is, when a number of realms gang up on a smaller realm,
theres only going to be something in it for probably 1 of those
realms, and the question becomes, "What the heck are the other guys
doing here?"

I think that is the intent.  It isn't *supposed* to be easy to take a
city and destroy a realm.  And I don't think Tom has said anything
against huge wars, and by speaking in favor of large realms, he's
technically supported them.  The problem is huge wars as a result of a
huge, pointless alliance.
