[Discuss] Dwilight updates?

So those of us that aren't privy to the new land, can we request an update on how things are rolling out?  

I still don't understand why this method of slowly populating the island is being used.  I'd think that giving the banner winners and a few nobles a 30 day head start to setup their realm would be good and then open the gates to all that want to emigrate.  Then those that have the family gold (not mine unfortunately) and desire could purchase title and start their own realms.  I can't hardly imagine how long it's going to take for the island to actually get going with a trickle approach to building from 4 realms.
