Adventurers are shunned by their own family, for mixed blood or other
reasons. The family would deny the connections, or not be aware of
them.
There is an IC medium in BM. The NPC nobles, like everyone's aunt
when they visit their family estate. These nobles know all the
families, and would in turn gossip to your character. Part of
roleplaying a noble is roleplaying this fact. You are your family
more than yourself in feudal times, because your rights derive from
your family. If one character has a bad reputation, it should bring
down the reputation of all characters. This may not seem fair, but
noble life is not fair.
