[Discuss] Serious Medieval Atmosphere - Duels

Having taken the time to actually look up some info on duels, I can't 
seem to find anything that indicates that they were actually used in the 
/medieval/ period (I think someone already mentioned people in tights 
with rapiers in the renaissance?); thus, arguing about duels using the 
SMA as backing seems a bit foolish if duels themselves are more or less 
anachronisms anyway.

Anyone care to enlighten me?
