Definitely.
I sometimes talk to someone for a long while, and then shake their hand
and walk off.
I never write a long letter to someone, then write, on the paper "I am
shaking your hand", and then sign off.
Surely you know what sorts of things get written in letters? You don't
write {frowns with annoyance} in the middle of a complaints letter to
your bank, do you? Or {makes gestures to indicate the size of the fish}
in the middle of a letter to your cousin about your recent fishing
successes?
And, on a side note, I think it would make things clearer if Roleplays
were not automatically completed with the addition of "psymann, Knight
of Splodgeville" at the end, since this makes them look like a letter,
which they're not. It's obvious from the title "Roleplay from psymann"
who wrote it; the "psymann, Knight of Splodgeville" at the end makes it
look like a letter and is inappropriate for roleplay messages. I'd like
to see that removed. Maybe I should stick that on the bugtracker?
