That, as I said, seems like it's definitely a problem.  You should be  
able to go at least half again as far, maybe twice as far with  
mercenary as with regular army.

Yeah, that would be more like fighting in Mimer.  Fighting in Giask  
(or perhaps more aptly, Madina) would be like an army of British  
troops storming Tokyo in 1523.
