He did not overlook them: they were buried in a lot of acrimony, and  
thus didn't make it to the moderated list.  However, I will summarize  
the counterpoints briefly here.

This is more or less a matter of opinion.

It not only makes perfect IC sense for them to be judged by people  
across the continent, it is, in fact, almost exactly what *would*  
have happened in the milieu--just not quite as explicitly, and by far  
more people.

That, I have no particular objection to.

It is *not* in any way an OOC reprimand: it is the perfectly correct  
IC loss of honour for speaking ignobly.

Perhaps what really needs to happen is that the option needs to be  
explained more thoroughly, both to those using it and to those  
affected by it, as there seems to be a widespread misconception as to  
its meaning.
