I was responding generally until you decided to make it personal.
My point still remains:  there are many ways to respond to what you perceive
is an insult to a character.  There are many consequences to refusing a
duel.  These ways and consequences must be left to the players to decide,
and not decided by game mechanics.

Well, there seems to be something making you believe you are the only one
who knows anything about nobility.  I find that annoying.
