You are forgetting that people, either in the game or in real life, rarely
behave the way they are supposed to.  Nobles who liked the death noble will
hate the noble who killed it, regardless of the laws.



Perhaps you did not read my post.  The game was not deciding anything.

Well, the point is that people are already deciding.  They decide by making
their characters have a positive or negative attitude towards the challenger
and the challenged.  Their lieges can give them good or bad marks.  The
judge can fine either of them.  And so on...
