I have already given reasons you can avoid it "honourably".  Simply move 
to a different region, it's not that hard to avoid a duel.  And I don't 
think a few points of prestige/honour is a big thing.

Yes, life is hardly ever fair.  I don't think it's fair that people can 
insult whoever they choose, as I said.  You insulted someone in a 
medieval Europe (and you were both nobles) there would likely be a deal 
taking place.
