I'm surprised Tom's even willing to entertain the idea. Seems to me the
only thing to come of an age listing is restrictions and censorship.
Here's an idea. Follow the contract. You know, the one you agreed to when
signing up, and many of you have agreed to multiple times since (every time
it's been modified). Remember that you're playing a game with a playerbase
of different races, languages, genders, and yes- ages.
And ask yourself next time you're about to send something with "adult
content"- would I want my son/daughter, niece/nephew, kid brother/sister
reading this? If the answer is no, chances are that there's more people
than just the kids playing this game that won't have any interest in it.
However, the bottom line still rests on the fact that Tom doesn't feel the
need to censor anything for any reason, unless it's blatantly offensive to
everyone involved. So use good judgment and let the kids' parents worry
about their children. Policing the internet is not our responsibility.
