A lot of that probably stems from the way religions are founded in the first
place. Chances are if you're a regional lord, you're in good with the
government and so you listen to them when you make your faith. There are
some religions with some depth to them, and there is a project right now to
make a really, really complex one, but it's taking *forever* as a
result. Not to mention there's little chance of building a temple
since no one has a region yet.

Religions are going to be used in two ways depending on the two basic groups
of battlemaster. The RP group will rp, build the religion and 'believe'. The
strat people will use the faith to achieve some goal (usually the
destruction of their enemy's) For religions to be what you want, there has
to be more rp people then strat, or at least strat players who are willing
to not use it as a tool.


One thought is a bit radical, but tell me what you think about it:
