Depends, what does she mean by lost their battles. The game told them they
lost the battle or they actually got their butts kicked. The game has told
me I lost battles which I consider very decisive victories kill more enemy
troops than number of men you lose. The advance formations are useful, you
might still lose the battle, but you may be able to do much more damage to
your enemies.
