has such a culture, people won't go because they don't like the results.

Perhaps I'm just paranoid (indeed, I hope so), but if not, I can see 
having to host/visit some events being somewhat mandatory (even the 
mopst reclusive nobles would have to have some select dinner parties) 
though I wouldn't like it as it takes away from actual existing nobles 
with RP's to explain their lack of public appearnaces RP wise (in my 
case, Widfara comes inexorably to mind for some reason :P).
