[Discuss] Ducal focus

 * Ducal diplomacy. And this includes other duchies of your realm.

How about keeping the capitol City but it is just that the Capitol City and has no Duchy the rest of the regions will have to pick a duchy other than the Capitol.  It is like here in the United States the Capitol is not considered actually part of the States it resides in and is considered a separate State or region if you will all on its own.  

So what you have is something like this.  For this Example lets take Abington.

You have several cities in the realm all have dukes or duchess.  

The Capitol is in Stoneville It would house the Royal Castle be ruled by the Queen and not the Duke.
It would also house the Realms Judicial System and Financial District as well.  It could the use of Recruitment centers from all over the realm as well.   It would need the help of the duchies to provide it food and thus have to buy it or trade for it in some manner.

the rest of the Cities would then have their on Ducal recruitment centers as well as banks and other necessary buildings.  It would also be the center for the ducal procedures possibly a ducal judge and banker could be made to deal with inter ducal problems and work out how its ducal matter get sent to the realm.  The Banker of the duchy would work out the trade arrangements with the realm banker and so no realm trades would be that of the realm banker and not between ducal and other realms.

Of course this would create a possible clash between the realm and a duchy and could cause more wars in the long run.  Duchies could have border wars that would result in ducal battles or even wars.  I really like the way this could go and I also see alot of potential but my reasoning is not always accurate or even possible so let me know what you think of this as well.
