[Discuss] Dictators

I was just wondering, what exactly are Dictators in BM based on? Given
they're the non-elected leaders of "tyrannies", you'd imagine they'd be more
akin to the present day leaders of dictatorships than the dictators that
were appointed for limited periods of time in the Roman Republic. The things
is, I don't think any present day dictator actually uses that as their own
title - that's usually a pejorative term others label them, isn't it?
