[Discuss] Rudeness from superiors.

Part of the rudeness is the character assassination that Tom does
characterizing whomever made the remark to be a liar. Something that from
what I understand has become common for Tom to do lately. Why is it if
someone says something that is incorrect that they must be a liar? Isn't
that one of the most demeaning and inflammatory comments you can make about
a person? Does it promote a friendly game atmosphere to automatically make
the assumption that the person has intentionally misrepresented the truth?

I think the point has been made that Tom leaves a lot of things to
mysterious for whatever reason. So the point is that the remarks made were
not unreasonable. And from the last time I played seriously, the thing
about the monsters would sound true to me, because that actually happened.
Monsters were set onto the large realms. Whether it was to slow them down,
give them something else to do, or add a something new doesn't really
matter. It did happen and people are always going to have their own
opinions why it happened. Sirion was one of those that got monsters. The
places that are larger I would not have known about if not for them being
pointed out. It is not reasonable to assume that everyone knows everything
that is happening in other places.

So was it intentional? Was it blatant lying? I think the evidence would
suggest that it was not. Just an opinion that is incorrect. In that case
the message itself is in breach of the social contract.

Do not insult or harrass other players with a spelling correction. It is
spelled harass.

Absolutely no verbal attacks, insults or harrassment of other players. Again
only one r.

I also remember something about how Tom wants people to play battle master
like they would play a game at home with their family and friends. I think
calling someone a liar seriously and drawing such attention to it is not how
you would treat friends and family. It is not how you would play in a
competitive gaming. In competitive play that would get someone thrown out
of the competition. At home it would start a fight and damage
relationships.

Regardless, there is no reason for that level of hostility. Not even if you
are Tom. Tom is the top of the organization and he is the one that sets the
example. Would he set that example for his children to follow? Because
that is the example that the game will follow. Thats how social hierarchy
works. A community follows the example of its leadership.
