As I noted in my "Strategies with Small Armies" post, even those of
us who do make a study of BattleMaster strategy have been having
trouble adjusting our strategies to match what you intend us to move
to. This is partly because it's *hard* to change the way you've
thought about something for years, especially when everyone around
you thinks more or less the same way. It's also partly because, as I
said in that post, there *are* clear advantages to the "pile all your
infantry in one line in one region and crush the enemy" strategy.
Sure, there are disadvantages, but they clearly don't outweigh the
advantages of ease of use and long tradition.

If *you* can give us some clear strategies for how to use the new
systems, and they can be proven to work--*especially* if they can be
proven to work *against the old strategy*--then we will agree with
you, and people will start to change their styles of play.

But if all you can say is, "come up with new ways," and you can't
tell us some ways that you can be sure will work, then so far as
we're concerned, the new changes are all just nice theories that have
no practical use. "Should work" is a far cry from "does work."

And, once again, I am very much looking forward to being able to use
new, non-brute-force, strategies. But I've tried several in the
past, and haven't been able to make any work well against the old
monolithic strategies. I'm one of the biggest advocates for the new
way, so if you can give me *something* to work with, I'll gladly
spread the word and push for change.
