Dropping a Militia unit (in any region) seems to add a point of Repute, as well.  I dropped two in a region that wasn't even in my duchy and I gained two points.  One to make up for a battle I missed in my region, and an extra one, plus one for participating in a major battle with my Marshal.  Putting me at 52 Repute.
