There's been a lot of talk on how an adventurer rights, such as from the wiki:

# If a noble wounded or killed a commoner, he might be liable for
damages to the commoner's lord, but never to the commoner.
# Commoners could be killed on the spot for the smallest crimes
against their lord.

Why don't our adventurers have a "sponsor" lord, the region they are
from initially, then any repercussions for wounding/killing an
adventurer would be in the form of paying that lord compensation.

That would give a reason for not arbitrarily punishing an adventurer.

------------------------------

That seems like a reasonable thing. After all, commoners are the
workers' of the world and if you kill off a worker that has a direct
impact upon the output and production of a region. Granted, we're not
actually working the land of a certain region but I still like the idea.

------------------------------

Adventurers fall into a class of commoners known as freemen. They owe no
allegiance to a lord.

------------------------------

Agreed that an adventurer is not the same type of commoner, but
perhaps as an "outlaw" there would be some tie to the region lord ..
I don't know, perhaps there is some relationship that makes the outlaw
that lords property/assest ... maybe the adventurer was caught
poaching a deer in teh region :)

This restriction/relationship could dissolve once the adventurer gets
to "Freeman" status.

------------------------------

It seems to make little sense to me that adventurers would be tied to a
specific lord, but it does make sense for them to be tied to the ruler.
Perhaps some nominal fee to the ruler for depriving them of a subject?
Or maybe have it go wherever it is that fines go?

------------------------------

I disagree if a commoner is born in a region then he is the property or charge of the region lord of the region. So if a Adventure is considered a commoner then he is in fact under the protect of the region lord. And therefore does do work for his region. He is charged with the task of killing off undead swaps and monster lairs as well as garbage duties.

Being as he was found to be of un-noble class most have probably gotten into trouble in some manner or another and have been sentenced to their respective rolls. as a from of punishment being as no noble would be found dead doing such a task.

So if a adventure is wounded or killed by another noble then he should indeed by liable to making arrangements to that adventures lord. If a adv. is allowed to leave his/her home realm and join a new one the person who is in charge of him then should become the ruler of his /her new realm, or the region of which he was in when he/she was granted permission to join the new realm.

lets face it they are commoners and must fall under someones protection until they have reached a honor able position with in the realm. I also feel if they are placed in prison then they should be punished by loosing honor or even prestige points because of the fact they insulted a noble.
