I can see ROLEPLAY in big bold white and ignore the rest of the text until I see LETTER or whatever else.  Often times when I get on from work (sshhh.) I don't want or have the time read a real "story-type" roleplay but I may want to read it later when I get home.  Since we have a flag for "Roleplay" I would assume that that's what it would be used for.

Yes, generic statements like "I'm moving out to region XXX" are still IC roleplay (which would likely fit under "Letter") but it's not the same RP as a 300 word missive spouting about the wonders of the religion or why I should elected in the next election.  Those would properly be flagged as "Roleplay".  It's just an convenience thing.
