I have to agree with this. Some more power in battle has to be given to the
casual gamers and lowly knights. At the moment you are given line settings
and orders, and simply turn up. It would be a lot more entertaining for the
people without lordships or government positions if they had a bit more say
in their units than how many, what type and what kind of unit of that type.
This would obviously apply to everyone, but would give those without real
sway in battlemaster something to entertain themselves with.
I'm speaking as someone who has had about 4 years in BM of not being that
influential, mostly because I played quite casually. I quit a few times
because of boredom, because all the action was happening on the ruler
channels and inner circle, the lower guys were just getting ordered around.
I know you can say 'RP then, or make things happen', but not everyone has
the time or inclination to do that. I know when I was playing I didn't have
time to RP things out with other people that much, because I logged on only
every so often, and in a lot of realms trying to make things happen often
gets frowned upon because it means going outside the guys in charge.
And yes, you can say just ignore them, and do you're own thing, but not
everyone is actually that brave. I know when I first started I didn't want
to upset people, even though they were just characters played by some guy
halfway round the world from me. Now I'm different, but it took time in
university for me to gain more confidence.
So yes, after that little speech, I feel that something should be done to
make the game more interesting for the little guys.
