Yes, that's what it *is*.  It's not a newsgroup, it's a discussion  
list.  There's a piece of software translating the emails into  
newsgroup postings to make it *look* like a newsgroup, but what it  
*is* is a discussion list. (It's also exactly what you asked for,  
whether you realized that's what you were asking for or not ;-) )

Um...have you ever heard of email filters?  I'm subscribed to a bunch  
of mailing lists, none of which ends up in my inbox.  I have rules  
set up so that every one of them goes to its own separate folder  
automatically (and some of them, like this one, play different sounds  
when they arrive, so I know what kind of mail I've gotten ;-) ).

I'm happy to help you set them up in Thunderbird, if you've kept that...
