This whole place confuses me badly enough already - every topic ends up with
two threads (one called, for example, "Topic", and the other called "Re:
[Discuss] Topic"). Then the replies never seem to appear in the right place
(a guy in the topic about priests and honour managed to reply saying "I
disagree" to the person who agreed with his original point, instead of the
person who was arguing against him...).
I know Tom says we have a newsgroup instead of a forum because the forum is
just a poor relation - and he's right - but at the moment, some benefits of
a newsgroup (eg being able to branch discussions off in different
directions) aren't being used, and are actually making following threads
here more difficult than any of the forums I use. :-(
Anyone know why
1) So few people manage to reply to the correct post in the thread?
2) All threads end up being split in two?
I'm guessing it's something to do with the difference between e-mailing in
replies or going direct to the newsgroup, or maybe just that people are not
familiar with how to use newsgroups in the same way we're familiar with how
to use forums, but whatever it is, it confuses me completely. :-( Nate's
post appearing earlier than the post it was responding to was just the icing
on the confusion cake! :-S
Anyway, apart from being confused here, I'm liking the game, now I've been
here a month or so :-)
