Not a problem with the mechanics, per se, but people have comprehension
about what the percentages mean when offering or receiving oaths. They don't
know what offering a 5% oath means. Is there any way they can get some idea
of what the really means when they offer it? When a knight goes to the page to
offer an oath, can they be provided some summary of what their oath will
provide?

Something like "Region X has an income of 200 gold. 75 of this will be sent to
the realm, and 25 will be sent to the duchy. An oath of 5% will result in an
income of 20 gold." My character on BT is a ruler, so I'm not directly involved in
things, other than accepting oaths.

I guess that people just don't understand the mechanics of how the financial
arrangements really work. I know that I don't understand all the tax system
ramifications.

Is there a page on the Wiki that details all of this information? There's the
Allegiance page, but all that says is "service for money".

There used to be a lot of info on the Hierarchy page, but that's all been deleted.

If I had to make a guess at why people aren't taking it up, it's that no one really
understands it. I can only see it from the ruler perspective, so I can't really help
write anything up to help make it easier.

In order to clear it up, there needs to be a comprehensive set of
documentation, from the view of each and every person involved. The individual
knight, the region lord, the duke, the banker, etc.

I think a lot of people got tired of offering oaths and having them just
disappear. Also, there is the feeling that oaths just don't mean anything. Until
there is some financial power behind it, then people won't feel forced to align, I
suppose.
