I keep hearing all these bad things about EC and how the RP is dead.
I have not found this to be true. RP is alive and well. And while it
is frustrating to be getting the short end of the stick in a war that
seems terribly lopsided...it can turn around. I have seen it do so
and on EC. Yes I have also seen realms die on EC, those are sad days
indeed. But these events can provide new motivation to get in there
and throw a monkey wrench into what ever is happening.
Poor diplomacy and lack of strong rulership lead to all sorts of
things in real life and in the game. If the guy or gal leading your
country/realm whatever alienates all the other rulers you end up
looking around for someone willing to stick their neck out for you.
It is a balancing act. If what you are currently doing isn't working
try something else.
