[Discuss] Assasinating priests

Lately being a priest has become ridiculous, assassinating them is far too
easy. Yes, it does tie up an infiltrator, but it seems they really enjoy
going after priests. We're more or less defenseless against them, we're men
of the cloth not sword wielding maniacs. Where I have my priest,
Dunkontology in Tuchanon on the East Island, almost all the priests have
been out of it more or less constantly for the last few weeks.
I think the logic is slightly flawed where assassinations of priests are
concerned. It seems to assume that priests are always all alone in a camp
under the stars with no one else nearby. I'd think that if there was a
temple nearby they'd be sleeping there, and if not surrounded by armed
guards at least there might be a an altar boy or traveler sharing the same
roof. That would give a chance of the assassin waking them up and giving
priests a warning to get away or get ready.
Of course, if you want to actually give the gods a power they could be
watching over their sleeping priest giving him an indication that trouble is
nearby and make him get away. Or one could make the poor sod assassinating a
holy man be cursed by the gods losing some honour/prestige in the process.
There should at least be _some_ deterrent to simply go swinging through the
ranks of the preachers all day long.
