This is all that we can see on region details when we don't have an SR:
Alaise
Cagilan Empire, duchy of Eaglin
Type: Mountains
Location: midland
Local Lord: Samuel
Population: 2988
Gold: 378 gold
Food: 36 bushels
Weather area: South Plains
I don't see why would anyone from another island want to know about
the location, population, gold, food, weather. This could all go away
for me. But I also don't think this kind of information would get
outdated, would it?
The Cagilan Empire, duchy of Eaglin part could be, and the Local Lord
information could be as well. So maybe this kind of information could
be excluded, and each realm could put a link to its regions so people
would know which regions are under its command, and who is the lord of
each. The region page could be perfectly neutral then. People would
have a bit more hard work to find out who it currently belongs to, if
not in the Island. Maybe we can put the realm link in region pages,
since there are a lot of regions which won't change hands so often...
or not. Anyway I would gladly exclude the region lord link, and the
duchy part.
In Atamara, Nazia, I haven't yet put up the region description (trying
to fetch old RPs and such), but the wiki page holds a somewhat long
history related to the drachenwaldians, which I shall put briefly on
the description, but not completely, so it won't be gigantic. Thus,
this situation plainly justify the existence of the region wiki page.
I would say that any region that has a description already should have
it on the wiki, for people who can't fetch a scout report to know what
it is like. The problem is: it can change as often as the region
change lords... but if the lords have a good enough mind, the
description will never be contradictory, but yes, complementary. Thus,
the information wouldn't be outdated, and we'd just have to add a few
lines to the wiki description. I wouldn't like to lose the data of old
descriptions anyway, if they are nicely done.
Just as there is a wiki page with guidelines to put up the ingame
region descriptions, we can fetch a few guidelines with what we
shouldn't put in the wiki description. And the template would need
rethinking.
