You can do either of those with HTML mail, which is another
abomination that should never have been.

Use the Wiki. Point people there. We're actually working on a FAQ
that Tom can link from the list footer.

If the things that a forum can do that a mailing list cannot are not
things that Tom *wants* to do, then they might as well not be there.

You are not getting this, and I don't know how to pound it into your
head. If Tom says he will never allow it, and not to ask for it, you
don't ask for it. Tom has strong opinions on a number of things that
I don't think are likely to change.

I don't agree with everything Tom decides. I don't even agree with
his policy of never even discussing his "frequently rejected" list
all the time. I have tried ever since I joined the game to get Tom
to change his mind on some things. But these are the rules, and
neither you nor I are going to change them.
