This discussion list is aimed at improving the game.  We (notionally)
discuss topics relevant to that aim; system changes, new classes,
combat settings, messaging, all that kind of thing.  For the list to
serve its purpose, Tom needs to be involved in that discussion to some
degree since he has the ultimate say over what changes are made to the
game.

So when Tom says forums are bad as an alternative to the discussion
list, he *is* right, since he wouldn't be reading anything that's
posted there.

If all you're saying is "I like forums", then hurrah, but so what?  I
like whisky but it would be a lousy alternative to the discussion
list.
