Alternatively, if you use Opera browser, then it's all built in (not a 
brilliant version, but pretty reasonable).  So if you've got Opera, or 
download Opera, you can just type:

irc://uk.quakenet.org/battlemaster

into the address bar, and it all works straight away.  Not sure if this 
works in other browsers but the need to go and download other stuff 
suggests to me that it might not do.

Oh, and back on topic, on the day in question, battlemaster didn't work 
for me for a short while - first time I've noticed that happen.  So I 
think there was some sort of problem with something somewhere.
