[Discuss] Pausing adventurer - lose items?

Hopefully this works, I always get the discuss list emails but I've tried
posting before and it hasn't worked...

Anyway, I'm wondering, if you pause an adventurer character, will they lose
all their items, or do items have the same status as gold/bonds for nobles
and stay with the character?
