[Discuss] Too many good guys in BM?

Good and evil are very subjective, what I meant was a character who would be
viewed as evil by a majority of other characters. Someone who say would view
murder as a reasonable solution to most problems involving other people,
whether a slight against them was big or small, simply because he viewed
other people as having no status compared to him. That would be something
most characters would deem evil, I feel.

And annoying jerks are another one. There is a difference between a player
being an annoying jerk, and a character being one. I will continue to play
my character as at least an annoying jerk, because I know I am not one. If
other players cannot tell the difference between my character and me, then
that's their problem.

I didn't quite phrase my first post right. What I'd like to see isn't
neccesarily 'evil' characters, since that's a very subjective definition,
but characters who are very disagreable and hard to like. Real annoying
jerks, cowards, back-stabbers, low-lifes, nobles who aren't nobles. We all
play as nobles, but that doesn't neccesitate that our characters have to act
like nobles. It isn't noble of my character to sling insults around, or
besmirch honour, but he doesn't give a damn about that, he doesn't believe
in things like personal honour and loyalty to abstract concepts like realms.
Tell him he's vulgar, he won't care, because that's how he is.

It's realistic, because throughout history there have been people who should
have acted one way, but didn't. There doesn't really need to be an incentve
to do it either, because I think the kind of people who'd want to play these
types of characters are the sort of people for whom the roleplaying itself
is rewarding. I like playing Garrus the way I do, because it's different, he
gets on people's nerves, upsets the work ethos in his realm. If players have
a problem with a character being a jerk, then they should deal with it IC,
not say to the player 'don't play a jerk, it's not nice'. Fines, bans and
executions are there for more than simply dealing with enemies.
