Now, don't get me wrong- I love the idea of finding new ways to get honor
and prestige; however, I don't see this as being able to work. Every battle
produces a battle report, which would include all the details of who was
there. If one were to buy a claim that they were there, anyone with that
report could simply just look at it and say, "No, you weren't." The only
way to make it work would be to do so like with buying titles- it TELLS you
that you fall for it; again, this probably won't work.
While it might be easy for somebody to go unnoticed whil in a big battle, I
just don't think people on a large scale would agree to play this out. IF
your idea is to not make it known to nobles, then what's the point?
How about something more like, pay some people to exagerate your and gossip
about your performance in battle. Again, you have people thinking that you
did something heroic in battle, but this way they casn't just look at a
report and say "You were'nt even there." They'd just be more like, "Wow, I
fought with THAT guy?"
