[Discuss] restrictions on adding regions to a Duchy?

I'm the lord of a region in the Colonies. I've been the lord there for
about 4 months. The option to join the only Duchy in my realm has never
come up (we only have 1 city). My region has been an Imperial region
since the start. 

Is this a bug? Or are there restrictions on joining a Duchy?

Further info: I have the option to join the 3 other neighbouring
Duchies, but not my own.

So, either I am already part of the Duchy, but still considered an
Imperial region (therefore a bug, correct?), or I am NOT part of the
Duchy, and the missing option to join my Duchy is a bug. 

If there is something I'm unaware off (such as special restrictions on
joining), please let me know!

Aww, come on Dave you know you really really want to take that region
over to the Assassins... don't think of this as a bug so much as the
worlds way of pushing Chault to make the right choice!
