[Discuss] Question: Friendly character claiming bounty

if a few hundred/thousand people stomping around in the battlefield 
can't kill you, why would some dodgy person hiding in the dark be able 
to? ok... i suppose being chivalrous and all.. could be an explanation 
for not giving the corpses an extra kick or stab (oh yeah? so why do 
they hunt stragglers?)

maybe their armor is really good during the battle?  and they don't sleep in their armor when they are all tucked in their warm beds?
