I'm still failing to see how so much damage was accomplished in a single
turn, and how some of this isn't simply reversible as soon as people found
out about it.  Still no report on attempting to strip his Duke title (which
should not have been that hard) or if he was banned immediately.

This sounds like the same thing that Nate did to the people in Alowca, in the colonies.  And yes, he did destroy everything there too.  And, if you didn't have an infiltrator sitting in the city it would take a turn or two to get him there so even if it took Nate 2 or 3 turns the damage is already done.

Talk about godmode.  No one family should be able to single handed bring one of the more powerful realms to their knees by buying the titles of two of their cities within a few months of his characters showing up on the island.
