I resent the thought that no-one RP's this war. I have an absolute ton of
arguments with my ruler (indirectly about joining this war, one of my chars
disagreed with it so he went priest, the other is currently campaigning to
have rights to duel every ally I meet BEFORE the attack, just to delay any
war effort.

I RP a lot in private, that is the way strings of RP's often go, but I do RP
in public still, especially at tournaments with a lot of crap
throwingbetween personal enemies. Recently I RPed about my career change to
Cavalier (with the new experimental tax system I can get about 20% of the
realm income, whee)

Bull. First point: it takes a lot of votes to change your ruler and if 20%
of the realm has stupid names, and there's another 20% that for IC reasons
likes the current ruler, you can't do it. not too mention that you can't
force elections easily in monarchies and theocracies...

Second point: That's an IC issue but that it's IC is no reason not to RP it
*at all*. there should be something written about what you do. It's
understandable that you don't want to see tons of long messages, but when
the largest realm on the FEI is 40 players maybe? Be realistic, even
rulership shouldbn't take too much time.

I quote the front page, "Although you can delve deeply into it and spend
more time on it, about 15 minutes per day are enough for regular play, and 5
will do if you are in a hurry." I haven't spent that amount of time on BM in
ages because delving deeply into it is too much fun as this is a great game
with lotsa opportunities, and I now spend at least an hour a day, and that's
barely enough. that is literally me skimming over most of my messages making
a conscious decision about whether or not I will move... planning when to
get banned, and what to loot before skipping off the island... spying for
the enemy realm, since there's only 2 people in the realm otherwise in it
and I need 8 others... poking my hired assassin to see how he's getting
on... there's a lot of depth and takes a lot of time.

(not gonna copy out all of his message because this will get far too long,
if it isn't already...)

I agree. But there should be some speech. I have literally pages of
discussion with one other person in my realm from about a week ago, that
took forever, and probably spammed the hell out of the realm, just arguing
about the most effective way to destroy our enemy, not that any plans will
be used properly becaue our realm sucks.

When I hired 9 scouts after I was pissed at a 1 hour travel delay, I RPed
about it. When I had the option to tell my tale in enemy territory (not that
it worked) I RPed about it. When I wrote the newspaper, that was RPing (Hmm,
you reckon EC has more RP than FEI then?). When I was on SEI in a forward
scout group, I RPed about it (and it went a long way! People still talk
about my char even though he's dead, and besides it was great fun). When we
were told we were going to war, I RPed about it. And I still RP. But mostly,
it's just normal letters of an IC nature.
