Right, we're talking about an age when the world ran on the principle
that MIGHT makes RIGHT. William the Conqueror had the least right to
the throne of England of all of the claimants. Tell that to the people
who he trampled under while he secured his throne -- tell that to the
Welsh who he beat into submission over and over again. Rights? Pshaw!
Of course it wasn't much _fun_ unless you happened to be on William's side.
