Let us be honest, Loren.
What if *you* were in this situation? What if the Realm that *you* were
playing in would find themselves in this situation?
The following writtings are not adressed persaonally to you, but to everyone
reading the d-list.
I think it is time to stop caring only for ourselves and try altogether to
fix what is wrong and needs fixxing. Maybe now it is just a Realm, but maybe
tomorrow it will be another...
What it annoys me in the above statement is the word *themselves*. I shall
explain as better as I can.
Do you mean that whatever happens outside your realm is none of your
concerns? I consider the game as being a contributed effort of a bunch of
friends and maybe this is why I speak that way on the D-list. Someone, I
think it was Lyman, said that since we do not do any coding we do not
contribute in the game. I do not see it that way and I shall point out to
you the wiki. It is a contributed effort. Anyone contributes what he can,
even if it is just his/her participation in the game. The most players
playing this game, the better it becomes and the more fun it has.
I see this game as being played by a bunch of friends who sit around a table
and play with same rules, equal for everyone. If one of the other Realms is
dealt unfairly based on a loophole or a bug or anything else that is OOC, I
will be sad. Why? Because then, my potential victory against them (winning a
War, a successful rebellion that would make me benefit from it etc.) would
have no meaning to me. I get sad when I see enemy players getting lightning
bolted, because this gives me an opportunity to gain from that OOC
intervention.
i.e. I, as a player, would love to see Perdan, Fontan or Sirion be
decapitated. However, if Tom decides to break any of these realms apart, I
will not be pleased, because of the fact that it will be done OOC and not
through IC means. It will have no fun, despite of the fact that I will have
gained what I had wished. Same here with the royal duke. I want him
stripped, but I will not be pleased to see that happening by OOC means.
However, in this case, there are no IC means without them being considered
an abuse.
...
Well I got too far with this again. I have a tendency, in my attempt to make
my thoughts clear to you, to write much and get lost in my writtings. This
is not the topic of this Thread and I should better stop it here. Please
though, start looking at this game as everyone is your friend, if you have
not done so yet. This would make the whole atmosphere more comfortable and
more enjoyable than it currently is. Wouldn't you be sad if any of your
friend was dealt unfairly? This is at least, how I feel for most of you (1
or 2 players excluded). This is how I feel now in this case with the mad
duke.
I consider Josh, the handler of the mad duke, to be my friend and I would
not like to spoil his fun. I consider though the other players who are sad
as my friends too and I do not enjoy seeing them not having fun beccause of
the loophole. I consider you as my friend as well and I would not be please
in the future to find yourself in the same situation.
These were my five cents. Sorry for going much Out-of-Topic here.
