Any class can be considered RP-based, depending upon the mindset of the
player.

Except that they wouldn't receive tax income, so their usefulness as a Duke
is practically. They'd have to rely on someone to give them gold to make
the simple improvements necessary to be a good region commander. Priests
themselves, as I understand it, cannot declare a religious state, so that
point's moot. As to using religion as a weapon/bribe, all that will result
in is the trending of religious borders to reflect those of realms. Instead
of having a unique experience within BM, you've created a parallel shadow
world of the "normal" game.

What would a priest use honour and prestige for, anyway? No unit, no votes,

Other than fame points, the rewarding experience that goes along with
advancing a character, and simple things like messaging rulers and being
appointed to positions (for those players who create new characters to
become priests, for example), oh.. I don't know...

And in response to LilWold (I'd begun this draft already): pushing papers
around is hardly noble or prestigious. Again, there is an illogical bias
against providing priests with honor and prestige. Bureaucrats, by the same
logic exhibited here, shouldn't be able to advance either.
