It might be a little late for this, but might I suggest that the
naming not have be preceded by "the" in its text?  If people want it
to begin with "the", they can add a "the" (and you can capitalize the
first letter of whatever name they choose should it begin a sentence).
 If they don't (such as a lot of current "armies" from before the army
system) then they needn't put it there.

For instance, in Perdan we have:
Perdan's Murderous Wrath
Perdan's Ghost Riders
Perdan's Crimson Wing and
Perdan's Strike Force.

I know that Fontan also has names that don't fall into the "prefix
with 'the'" scheme.

Perdan has quite a bit of RP surrounding these armies (the PMW is
rather infamous, or so I think).  It would be nice to keep that and
not have to change their name to fit the arbitrary sentence structure.
