Technically, this is true for dukes, counts and the whole lot in BM. 
You're not born a duke nor do you have any birth right to any such 
title. That's why so many people don't see the problem in questioning 
someones nobility(I think the whole questioning nobility is a bit off 
from what most people actually use the option for).
